Incredibly happy with this purchase! I have been tying and fishing some bulky flies for fall musky in Canada and the Double Haul paired with 500 grain Musky Gen 2 line makes easy work of those flies! I have even had clients casting the Double Haul who have never casted a musky fly rod before. They picked up the cast pretty quick and was able to cast all day long!
The right tool for the job!
Killer rod. Excels at throwing bulky dense flies and heavy sinking lines. On paper the rod might seem heavy but has the right muscle and bend to throw big flies all day.
The rod I use the most when fishing for the freshwater Apex predator "Muskellunge" ! Handles big flies and lines with ease. Typically more than 1 of these setups on my boat.

This rod is a dream to cast and throws the biggest flies and heaviest lines with ease. The price and value cant be beat. So much better than other higher end rods that are really just repurposed saltwater blanks.

Great rod for the money. I broke 2 rods in a accident the day before the Kentucky River Musky Classic, and was able to pick up this rod from Dave on site. I fished it for 3 days, and was very impressed. The action is a bit more relaxed than some of the other musky rods I've fished. I was able to deliver the biggest flies in my arsenal without beating myself up. If I could make one improvement, it would be ceramic insert guides, but that would be impossible at this price point. Highly recommended bang for the buck. Dave and family are solid people and a pleasure to work with!
This rod loads quick and is easy casting. Can’t wait to put it to the test! All around extremely accurate and can really feel it load up. Makes me want to try their 8wt out!
