I recently bought the 7wt Streamer Special. I’ll preface my review based on the fact that I’ve been Flyfishing for 55 years. I’m not a fan of ultra fast fly rods, I prefer a rod with some mid flex. I just returned from a western North Carolina smallmouth trip and got to put the rod through its paces. I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed it. The fit and finish are very well done and it straight up chucks line with ease and control, the action is exactly what I was hoping for. Finally, the purchase experience and customer service were top knotch. Dave even sent me some line recommendations that were spot on.

I retired my favorite high end brand name rod and ordered my own after trying a friends. My go to Smallie rod and the rod I share the most with others. A fantastic bang for the buck. This is one of 2 rods I'd pick if I could only have 2 rods for the rest of my fishing days. I now have a pair of them on the deck of the DB on every smallie trip.
Haven’t had an opportunity to fish my rod yet, but I’ve spent several hours throwing streamers with Dick Gross’s rod and it was terrific. Looking forward to getting out there again soon.

I’ve been casting it and it is so sweet. The rod will get a huge workout in the first week of November when we head up to Lake Ontario for big Brown’s steelhead and Atlantic Salmon but for now, I will use it on large mouth and on saltwater species here in eastern North Carolina. Excellent rod. Really enjoy slightly softer action. Spooled up with a Ballistic Pro Performance line and bombed a 115’ cast, right out of the tube. Can’t wait to fish this rod!
First off, Dave is a stand-up guy! He’s always willing to answer questions and help you find the right rod for your style of fishing. I took the Streamer Stick out this past week, and man, I had no idea what I was missing. This rod loads effortlessly and absolutely launches streamers. On top of that, it’s incredibly sensitive, so you can feel everything that’s going on. It’s definitely earned a permanent spot as my go-to bass setup. The 7wt steamer stick is a great fly rod, I’ve already landed several big fish with it in the short time I’ve had it and I’m not disappointed.

In a world where customer service is rarely as good as it could be, and often times disappoints, Dave and the team at WRC have been a pleasant and welcome surprise. From communication, to efficiency of shipment, to the quality of product received, my experience has been exemplary. I love my new Streamer Stick, and it has immediately found a home as my go-to bass and carp rod. The rod loads easily with the 200g Scientific Anglers Infinity Warm floating line (WF7F) I currently have it paired with, and works best with a smooth stroke. Add in a double haul and distance comes easy. I’ve tested it with weightless flies as well as weighted streamers and it has handled all very easily. I’m so glad to have discovered WRC and will be picking up more of these sticks asap. Thank you Dave!
