I had been looking for a heavier action rod to chuck heavy, thick, articulated streamers for smallmouth and largemouth bass. What I didn't know was how important the bomber would end up becoming to my arsenal considering its wide range of use. It started with wanting to throw heavier, weightless, articulated flies like game changers and dungeons for smallmouth and largemouth bass, but it quickly advanced to throwing large jighead streamers for trophy browns and rainbows. The stiffer action of this rod allows me to move heavy full-sync line and heavy jighead streamers in addition to being able to still cast floating lines and deliver delicate presentations for weightless streamers and articulated patterns when I'm finesse fishing in small creeks for smallmouth. Overall, the 8-weight has quickly replaced all my other rods as my go-to streamer rod no matter what type of fish I'm targeting here in Kentucky. The ability to simply change my reel and line type to adjust to the situation I'm in while still being able to maintain a stiff enough action to fish aggressive water is something that I can't really replace in any other type of rod. When you consider the value, the ROD case, and the extra tip you receive, you can't really beat the quality for the price that you're getting anywhere else in the industry.
